My Style: Casual Shopping outfit snippet and Jomars!!!

Asalamu Alaykum folks!

So yesterday, roomie and I got all dressed and spiffy to go to a fabric store. We decided to head off to a famous place called Jomar.

I knew it would be an interesting day when we arrived because this place was fricken huge and could rival any department store. The fact that it had two levels and the top (which was nothing but fabric, trims, and other notions) was just as large made us squeal like two giddy girls. We were raising our voices, squealing and smiling from ear to ear the whole time. Sou sou was singing and acting a fool because she hadn't had her nap so we kept feeding her all the foods to keep her calm.

She was dressed up in her Eid dress too! I decided just for the fun of it, why not? She yelled at the older kids, started signing to a woman she was enthralled with (I had to translate) and flirted with  staff who practically melted.

Here is what she said to the lady...

"Hi, thank you, you are so pretty, I am a happy baby!" (all in sign language)

It was great great day. And I don't have photos womp womp because left the camera at home accidentally in the excitement.

But we are going back! And there will be pics next time.
What did I get?

Tis secret, but it has to do with my business inshallah.

Roomie bought lots of delicious fabrics for the same reason. Oh did I mention the prices were stupid cheap. When I was in the car coming back I seriously told her we should turn around, because I just couldn't believe how great of a value it was.
I kept thinking we were wrung up incorrectly and I did not want to have this on my moral record!

In conclusion, if you are in Philly and you want to go by fabrics,  go to Jomar.

Here is what I wore that day!

I apologize for the hot mess photos. They will get better eventually!

Oh Yeah....

  1. Sounds like fun, I love fabric/craft stores. I worked at Rag Shop in high school. I love the print of your scarf, really pretty, mashaAllah.

    1. Hey sis! This was the first one I went to in Philly so I pretty impressed so far. You are so lucky that you are in MiSr. I never even went fabric store overseas. I bet I am missing out. THank you about the scarf. I bought it in a mall somewhere on the side for like less than 20 bucks :)
