Featured Events: Premier Showcase Event!

Peace and Blessings folks! 

Last night I went to an app launch party in Inglot and stood around pretending to be helpful. My outfit caught the eye of this really sweet woman who inquired about the biz. I told her just a little about it and asked her to attend our launch party. She said she would be really excited to do so and threw in some other exciting stuff that may or may not happen. A collaboration of some sorts! 

I really love being a business woman. I feel on edge and overwhelmed most of the time yes, but its a profession that allows me to meet so many amazing people, learn and grow daily, and be able to potentially affect many lives. We haven't even started yet, which means there are probably lots of uphill battles and road bumps ahead...I will face them inshallah!

I am really excited because I have seen some of the product adverts and there will be some great pieces on sale. Also, I get to meet the designer Zeba Ramos (again)! She is one of the sweetest hardest working people I know in NY now, and she will be featuring her designs there for sale inshallah.

Featured Events: Sister Swap Event!

I always ALWAYS wanted to attend a swap event and yesterday alhamdoolilah I got my chance! I met up with a few other NYC sisters at Cafe Bene near Time square. 

First of all let me mention that Times square is not fun for me anymore. There are too many people, too much stimulation, (I sound like a grandma) and no one seems to know where they are going!

Featured Events: Underwraps Muslim Model Launch and Fashion Show!

Asalamu Alaykum folks!

Alhamdoolilah, I finally got the pictures back from the famous Underwraps Muslim Modeling Agency Launch that I attended this past Saturday, February 11th. My best buddy Dannie and I got dressed all spiffy to view some of the unique pieces from Nailah Lymus herself, as well as other local New York Muslim Designers. It was featured at RARE salon in Tribeca NYC.

When we first walked in we noticed how packed it was. There was a great diversity of Muslim and non-Muslim attendees, models, bloggers, stylists, make-up artists, and photographers. We stood around and grabbed some drinks to await the show. Before my camera died (yes it did) Dannie, got a chance to take a few photos of the decor. The first thing we noticed is  the large array of paintings being sold for charity.

Last week I was invited to a fashion show in New York baby! I am excited about going back to NY and seeing some of my friends inshallah. 

Did I mention its a fashion show for Muslim women? I will be going to view the latest collection of Amira Creations and watching my awesome friend walking down the runway. Here she is featured in the latest press release for the show.

The show coincides with the opening of the first Muslim Model Agency known as Underwraps. You can view their website and signed models here.

I am so excited I can barely contain myself. First I have to clean my house like a mad woman, send some stuff, pick outfits....arrgh I should have started this sooner! 

I kept it secret secret as I was desperately looking for a babysitter since Mommy will be out on the town for the first time in a LONG FRicken time. Yay for me and freedom!!!
