Featured Events: Underwraps Muslim Model Launch and Fashion Show!

Asalamu Alaykum folks!

Alhamdoolilah, I finally got the pictures back from the famous Underwraps Muslim Modeling Agency Launch that I attended this past Saturday, February 11th. My best buddy Dannie and I got dressed all spiffy to view some of the unique pieces from Nailah Lymus herself, as well as other local New York Muslim Designers. It was featured at RARE salon in Tribeca NYC.

When we first walked in we noticed how packed it was. There was a great diversity of Muslim and non-Muslim attendees, models, bloggers, stylists, make-up artists, and photographers. We stood around and grabbed some drinks to await the show. Before my camera died (yes it did) Dannie, got a chance to take a few photos of the decor. The first thing we noticed is  the large array of paintings being sold for charity.

Afterwards, the host Yasmine came out (wearing her own designs) and began to talk about the founder of Underwraps and what we could expect later on.

Then the show finally begun and we got to see all the models walk down the room showing off their makeup and garments.

This tunic looked AMAZING from behind. I think I want it!

When J walked out, everyone let out some  kind of noise. She looked great! Now my roommate is trying to order her jacket and Dannie is going after the pants.

The beautiful sis I came all the way out here to see!

I loved getting to know all the other guests. One of which was the founder of rare herself, Fatima Sheikh. I usually do not pamper myself and go to salons, but after talking to this sister, I can definitely see myself going to New York for her services. Did I mention, once a month she caters to hijabis?

There was lots other gorgeous sisters who I had to go up to and snap their photo!
Designs her own jewelry and has a store!

Overall, I had an awesome time! The crowd was eclectic and positive. The designers were all amazing friendly. The decor was great. I loved meeting other bloggers and designers who I hope to reconnect with inshallah once I get my line up and started. I will probably need to call on Mrs. Lymus herself, to employ some Muslim models for photos. Great job!

You are probably wondering where is my photo in all this! You are all just going to have to wait as I am getting in touch with the photographer who actually captured by good side. Stay tuned!
