For all the Sou Sou lovers!

Hello folks!

My offspring, a.k.a. chunky butt, a.k.a. Sou sou is finally adjusting to the new home very well. Her two new favorate English words are Park and Beach!
She asks to go all the time, although I'd rather go to sleep or slump (im still sick).

I have been searching for a babysitter options and daycare providers since I came. Once she is finally enrolled inshallah (hopefully next week) it will be the first time in 2 years where I will not have to be a full time mother.....and although it is nervewrecking process to thrust her off without me by herself, I know I need this space and time to focus on moi.

Looking at my surroundings, I feel a bit anxious about her being raised in NY. There are kids her age and older who curse and fight. It seems their parents are no different. Just the other day I had to approach a young boy for the way he was talking to her...yeah I nipped that ish right in the butt!

Sou sou has always been gentle and affectionate. She assumes everyone is her blood family and ends up getting someone or another parent or child to play with her, pick her up and include her in their games. Most people are shocked how loving and attached she can get. I know I need to protect that quality in her and so I have been contemplating some overseas options for her education.

  4. Aww mashaAllah...yes protect her loving and kind nature. It is hard when they are at the age when they have to begin mixing with other children and the majority of other children have traits and behavior's you are trying to avoid from your little one. Sending them to main stream school is such a big decision many parents take lightly. I am torn between schools or homeschooling they both have their advantages but home schooling has better advantages for them as individuals whilst school education has a tendency to crush their personalities but make them 'academically smart'. May Allah protect all our kids, they are going up in some tough times! ameen
Glad you are settled in such a nice area. The beach so near must be lovely mashallah

  5. I understand you completely sis. If I was married and had help at home, I probably would have opted for homeschool with sou sou. I feel like education is becoming so individualistic now and academic achievement may or may not be as important depending on the career. We obviously don’t want to cause disadvantage in their life subhanallah. Yes, may Allah protect our families ameen. The beach is great for us Alhamdoolilah 
