Since airstrikes began on November 14, 2012, more than 100
Palestinians have been killed—including children and at least one pregnant
woman, according to news reports. More than 1,000 people have been injured. A
week later, on November 21, a ceasefire was declared, bringing the aerial
assault to an end.
With nearly eight days of air strikes, the already-volatile
environment has been made more uncertain across the region—from Gaza to
Bethlehem to Jerusalem, and areas in between. Many Palestinians who struggle
every day in impoverished conditions find themselves yet again without vital
resources.
Buildings, schools and homes have been destroyed. Several
Islamic Relief Palestine staff members who live in Gaza have reported damage to
their own homes. Numerous Palestinians have been rendered homeless, and thousands
of young children are living in a constant state of fear. According to Islamic
Relief Palestine team members, mothers and fathers have told them of signs of
stress on their children, including constant crying and bed-wetting.
Our goal is to provide emergency supplies to Palestinians
who need it most by working with UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works
Agency through Islamic Relief.
Every second counts. As such, we are asking you to make a
donation today.
Here are some pics of an outfit I rarely wear because I tend to shy away from lots of black.
You looked so cute.
